Managing Workouts

Overview

The Workouts section lets you create structured workout programs for your clients. Each workout is made up of blocks (like “Warm-up” or “Main Set”), and each block contains exercises with sets, reps, and rest times. You can also attach videos and link exercises to specific timestamps.

1. View Your Workouts

  1. In the sidebar, click Workouts.
  2. You’ll see a table listing all your workouts with columns for Title, Status (Draft, Published, or Archived), Access Level (Free or Premium), and Created date.
  3. Use the filters at the top to narrow by status or access level, or search by name.

2. Create a New Workout

  1. Click the Add Workout button in the top-right corner.
  2. A dialog will appear. Enter a title for your workout and confirm to create it.
  3. You’ll be taken to the workout editor where you can fill in all the details.

3. Edit Workout Details

The workout editor has three main sections, accessible via the scroll-spy sidebar on the left:

Details

  • Title — The name clients will see (required).
  • Description — An optional summary of the workout.
  • Access Level — Choose Free (visible to all clients) or Premium (requires an active subscription).
  • Status — Set to Draft while building, then switch to Published when ready for clients.

Media

  • Header Image — Upload a cover image for the workout.
  • Video — Optionally attach a workout video. Videos are hosted on Mux for reliable streaming.

Blocks & Exercises

  • Click Add Block to create a new section (e.g., “Warm-up”, “Main Set”, “Cool Down”).
  • Each block has a title and an optional video timestamp that links it to a specific point in the workout video.
  • Within each block, add exercises using the Add Exercise dropdown:
    • From Catalogue — Pick from your pre-created exercise library.
    • Manual Entry — Enter a custom exercise name inline.
  • For each exercise, you can set Sets, Reps (supports ranges like “8-12”), Rest Seconds, Notes, and an optional Video Timestamp.
  • Drag blocks and exercises to reorder them as needed.

4. Manage Your Exercise Catalogue

Your exercise catalogue is a reusable library of exercises that you can pull into any workout.

  1. Go to Workouts → Exercises in the sidebar.
  2. Click New Exercise to add an exercise to your catalogue.
  3. Fill in the exercise details:
    • Name — e.g., “Barbell Bench Press” (required).
    • Instructions — Describe proper form and technique.
    • Difficulty — Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced.
    • Muscle Groups — Tag the muscles worked (e.g., chest, triceps).
    • Equipment — Tag required equipment (e.g., barbell, bench).
    • Media — Upload an image or demonstration video.
  4. Click Save. The exercise is now available to add to any workout via From Catalogue.

5. Publishing a Workout

  1. Open the workout you want to publish.
  2. In the Details section, change the Status from Draft to Published.
  3. Click Save. The workout will now be visible to your clients based on the access level you’ve set.

Tips

  • Build your exercise catalogue first — it makes creating workouts much faster since you can reuse exercises across multiple workouts.
  • Use video timestamps to guide clients through a full workout video, highlighting when each block or exercise begins.
  • Keep workouts as Draft until you’re satisfied, then publish them all at once for a clean launch.
